Hi
I'm a non-resident of NYS with rental property. The income for 2025 is net loss after expenses and depreciation. I have no other NYS income. I went thru the Turbotax questionnaire for NYS, but everything is "0" that is allocated to NYS. How do I know if Turbotax actually filled out the correct forms needed to document my situation? I want to make sure that the Passive Activity Loss is documented for future. There is no way for me to check the forms filled out until I actually pay for the filing.

You can view the state summary for free.
Look for New York tax ($0) and words like "operating loss" or "loss carryover" - it varies with the version.
Once you decide to pay to see your forms in full, look at:
Thank you Amy,
I took a look, but I dont see either "operating loss" or "loss carryover" on the NYS tax summary preview. Is this a concern? The NYS questionnaire didnt ask me anything about business income. I allocated 0 of my job income as none of that was related to NYS.
No it should not be a concern. You can print your return before your file so that all forms are visible for your.
You have access to all forms when you choose to print your return in TurboTax Online/Mobile. However you are required to pay before printing, but do not have to file until you are ready.
If you are using TurboTax Desktop you can switch to Forms and review all forms and worksheets.
