We rented part of our home in 2016. I was going through the steps and it asked for mortgage interest paid in 2016. Is this going to duplicate when it asks again later?

On the Do Any of These Situations Apply to This Property? page, make sure the I rent out part of my home box is checked.

A few screens later, it says

Deductible personal expenses for this property will be entered as itemized deductions. Do not enter them again later.

In other words, do not enter the mortgage interest you paid twice; Turbo Tax will automatically carry over your portion.
