RENT
There is not a rent deduction or credit on your Federal return. If your state has anything for renters you will be prompted to enter your rent info when you complete your state return. As far as I know, the states that have anything for rent are Arizona, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington DC, and Wisconsin.
whY did my refund never go up or down and came on screen as soon as i first started my taxes how is this possible
The software starts out by giving you the 3rd EIP payment. If you already go that payment it will reconcile it and remove it if you say you received it already. Beyond that---the refund monitor will change only if you enter something that has an effect on your tax due or refund. We cannot see your return so we do not know what kind of income you entered that could have affected your refund.
