If you are trying to deduct rent you paid on the home you live in, it is not deductible on your federal tax return unless you are self-employed and have an office in your home.

You may be entitled to a credit on your state tax return for rent paid, so you need to look for such an option when working on your state tax return. It will probably be in the deductions and credits section of your state return section in TurboTax.
