That's Okay.  Post the dates as they actually exist.  Your cost basis is going to be zero and you will show the profit from the earlier sale.  Basicly, you sold the option for some value.  You waited until it expired.  It expired below the strike price, so the cost was zero, and you kept the original remium.

you sold an option but that date is irrelevant.

When you close the position or the option expires, the Date Acquired is that date and the Date Disposed is one business day later (options settle in one day).

 

you could sell the option three years ago and it will still be a short term (one-day) holding period.
