Turbo Tax rejects Homeshare for part of the year

Hello,

In 2025, I shared my home (1/2 of the house) with a traveling medical provider for 4 months. So I had personal use of my home for 365 days, while the homeshare renter had it for 120 days.

Turbo allows a max of 365 day. How do I enter this?!?!?!?!?

If it is pertinent, I did have it available to rent for the rest of the year, but did not have a tenant.

Thank you!

You enter based on the rental portion, not your home.  It does matter since it reduces the chance of your personal use. You rented out part of your home. You lived in part of it all year -as expected. You had part of it available for rent most or all year. You probably rented a bedroom and maybe a bathroom for their private use.

The part that  was 100% for the guest only, is the rental part. You may not have used the space at all during the year. If you let a guest -friend/ relative stay in the rental area unpaid, that was personal use.

So, of the 365 days in a year, how many of those days did you use the space for rent on a personal level?  How many days was it actually rented? Those are the 2 questions in the program for days. You could have zero days of personal use or more.
