So i got a 1099 for “selling stock” on robinhood apparently. I deleted my account and i had to sell it to delete it but they say I have a file it in my taxes but it was under $600. I only made $29 on it. So do I need to file it?

you're supposed to but the final choice is yours.  even though proceeds are under $600 Robinhood may still submit the 1099B to the IRS

but it was under $600.

That doesn't negate your requirement to report it. The $600 limit is for the 1099. A 1099 is not required to be issued for amounts under $600. But that doesn't mean one can't be issued. Even if not issued, you'd still be required to report it, even if the gain was only $1.(Assuming you have other sources of income that makes your total income exceed your standard deduction)
