Shared Expenses with a Lease

My boyfriend and I planning on moving in together in next year or so. He would be moving into my condo and paying 50% of the mortgage and HOA fees, but we would be sharing the property 100%.  I was planning on having him sign a simple lease when he moves in to protect both of us if things don't go well. Does him signing a lease mean that his contribution to our shared housing expenses be considered taxable income for me?

@lhilldorfer no - it's just "roommates" living together...... you two are sharing expenses - it's not income to you
