Bought stock in 2010 for $1500, sold 7/2016 for $1215, where do I put this on the form?

To enter a stock sale in Turbo Tax: 

1. Go to Income. 

2. Select I'll choose what I work on. 

3. Go down to Investment Income. 

4. Click Start or Update by Stocks, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Other. 

The screens will walk you through it.  A Schedule D will be generated, and a loss of $285 will be on line 13 of Form 1040. 

To check, 

1. Go to My Account. 

2. Go to Tools. 

3. Go to View Tax Summary. 

4. Go to Preview my 1040.
