I have to remove large trees that are damaging the City sidewalk. To remove the trees I need to remove the shrubs around them, too. I need to remove and replace the damaged City sidewalk. Then install replacement trees and shrubs. Can I deduct this work as maintenance expenses or do I need to depreciate the expense?

Landscaping items are improvements but here this sounds like a repair/maintenance item so I'd expense it.
expense the tree removal and sidewalk replacement, too? Is there a limit on how much to expense in one year? Thanks!
