Rental expenses

None of the rental expense I entered was saved.  In the summary section, the expenses show zero and is not deducted from the income The net profit shown is income minus depreciation only.

If TurboTax is not letting you continue, you can try the following:

Go out of your program and go back in.
Clear your cache and cookies.
Try a different Web Browser.

If you are using TurboTax Desktop make sure all updates have been run on your program. You can do this by clicking on "Online" in the black bar across the top of your TurboTax screen. And then select "Check for Updates".

my question is why are the expenses not picked up and deducted from rental income.  I have no problem continuing in TurboTax.  Thanks

It sounds like your expenses did not remain in place.  Try going through them again and use the steps in the link below.

1. Search (upper right) > Type rentals > Click the Jump to...link 
2. Select Edit/Update  beside your property 
3. Scroll to select Add expense or asset 
4. Scroll to select the expense you need or Miscellaneous 
5. Click the checkbox > Scroll to select Continue 
6. Scroll to the expense you selected and click the Start button to enter your expense.
7. Continue until your are back to the Rental Summary Screen and Continue
