wash sale

I have a $5000 loss from a wash sale in 2019. This loss should have been carried over to 2020 but is not being recognized on my Turbo Tax . Does this require a manual entry ? How do I account for the loss in 2020?

wash sale

there is no such thing as a wash sale carryover.  the disallowed loss is added by the broker to the cost basis of the shares that caused the wash sale.  when you sell them, assuming you do not create another wash sale, you will get the benefit of the previously disallowed loss.

thanks for the reply....I checked my 1099B for 2020 and calculated that they did, in fact, include the wash sale.

I appreciate you help.
