My passive loss from 2015 did not carry over into 2016. Where can I report this?

If your capital loss from is not carried over to 2016, you can enter it by following these steps:

In TurboTax, open your return and follow these steps:

  • Click on Federal Taxes, then on Wages and Income
  • Under All Income, locate the Investment Income section
  • Click Show more and click Start next to Capital Loss Carryover (see attached screenshot).
