Please explain "my client...." If you are a paid tax preparer you are in violation of the terms of service if you are using TurboTax software and charging someone to prepare a tax return.
Client? Are you using an Intuit program such as Lacerte' maybe? I ask, because TTX is for personal use. But for all I know you're using a product as a licensed tax preparer with your own IRS issued PTIN.
I don't see what real estate interest income has to do with non-taxable combat pay.
Are you talking/referring to a line on the 1040? If so, what line number specifically? I don't understand your statement of "my clients real estate income was interest on non taxable combat pay" That confuses me. How is interest on real estate income related to combat pay? Either I'm not comprehending something correctly, or you made a typo.
