Save a PDF copy of your return (with all forms and worksheets) to your computer.

On Form 8960, if you have a negative value on Line 4c, this value should equal the amount on Schedule 1, Line 5.

The amount on Schedule 1 carries over from Schedule E, Rental Income/Loss.

The amount on Form 8960, Line 4c, should be the Schedule E amount on Line 4a, and any adjustments on Line 4b.

If this does not resolve your issue, please clarify and we'll try to help.

I have the same issue, but the numbers do match.  We have a single owner photography LLC. There was $279 net income. In form 8960 4a is 279, 4b is -279.  4c is consequently 0.  In schedule 1, Part 1 line 3, the $279 appears again as Business Income or Loss.  Line 5 is blank (not 0, but empty).

What is particularly confusing is that the error we got back from Turbotax ends with "This issue will be resolved on February 19, 2023. On or after this resolution date you may submit this return for electronic filing."

Does that mean the IRS had a bug???

Apparently it did mean that they had a bug, as I resubmitted and it was accepted.
