If the home I own is used as a rental property should I not fill out the home owner portion in the deductions page?

Deductions like mortgage interest and real estate taxes for a rental property should be taken on Schedule E, not on the personal side of the return (Schedule A). If you have entered them as a rental expense, you can not also take them as personal deductions.
