If I moved (rented) to Florida from Kansas in March, then moved (rented) back to Kansas in December what or how should I file? I was self employed and w2.

The move will not affect your federal return.

For state, you will file a part year resident return for Kansas. You will include the income you earned while a resident of KS in the beginning of the year and also in December.  As you walk through the return, you will tell TurboTax you were a part year resident and then follow the prompts and answer the questions to prorate your income based on where you were living when you earned it.

Since you moved to Florida you will not have a second state return to file as FL does not have a state income tax.
