I wrote a check out to my landlord for my business rent on 12/29/17. It was for January 2018 rent. It didn't clear until 01/02/18. What year do I claim this payment?

If the check for the rent was written and presented to the landlord during 2017 then it would be reported on your 2017 tax return.
