I need to file form 4952 and I have interest expense of 18,507 to carry over from 2015.

To enter Investment Interest Expense:

  • On the Tax Timeline, select "Federal Taxes".
  • Click on "Deductions and Credits".
  • Select the "Check for more tax breaks" button and select "Skip to see all breaks".
  • Scroll down to the Retirement and Investments section and click "Show more" to expand the list.
  • Click "Start" next to "Investment Interest Expense".
  • Answer Yes that you have carryover investment interest expense.

Information entered into this section automatically transfers to Form 4952.
