I lived in California all of 2020. I own rental properties in Virginia. Do I need to file a VA State tax return for 2020?

Last year, a tax preparer did not file a Virginia tax return for me.  However, guidance from TurboTax states I must.  What is the correct answer?

You definitely need to file a non-resident state tax return for Virginia - for both 2019 and 2020.  Even if your rental property has a loss in a given year, you still need to file a Virginia return for that year.
