I live in IL. I performed one service in PA & earned $350. Why is TT taking me through an entire PA return as though all my earnings (rental income, etc.) came from PA?

That's a PA requirement for their interview process.  They decided that it can't be assumed that anyone filing a PA return doesn't have these sources of income, so they must be included as part of the interview.

Thank you for your response. Still, I've been through the PA return questions multiple times and can't find where to enter this $350. Why doesn't TT ever ask how much was earned in PA? EDIT - I think I did finally find it, but it would have been helpful if the question were more direct.

I'll be the first to admit that some of the state returns are a bit convoluted.  However, the states require this in our programming.
