Royalty income from operating a natural resources business gets reported on Schedule C.

Royalties from intellectual property that you didn't create yourself gets reported on Schedule E.

Once you've selected the proper classification, follow the onscreen instructions.

To enter your 1099-MISC:

• Go to My Account > Tools > Topic Search
• Type royalties in the search box and click Go.
• Proceed through the interview to enter your royalty income.
