I have Royalties income from a oil lease totaling $130.00. Turbo tax does not like it listed on Schedule E. How should it be listed?

I have 1099-misc income from a oil lease in the form of royalties. How should it be reported?

You enter the royalty income reported on the form 1099-MISC as royalty income on the Schedule E.

When you started the rental section, one of the first few screens asks if this a Rental or Royalty property.  You should have selected Royalty.  Then in the Income section you were asked if you received a Form 1099-MISC for income.  You should have answered Yes and then completed the 1099-MISC by entering the Payer's name and employer number and the $130 in box 2.  Continue with this section until it completes.

Please enter it in the Rental Properties and Royalties section.

Be sure to select "Royalty property or payment" on the "Is This a Rental Property or Royalty?" screen

Select "Oil and Gas Royalty Income" on the "What Type of Royalty Income" screen

Enter the income and tax on the input screen, don't check the box.

If you are still having an issue, can you give us any additional information on the error it is showing?
