Part I on the 4562 (lines 1-13) deals with "earned" income reported on SCH C. It does not include SCH E income. Additionally, residential rental real estate is not eligible for the SEC179 deduction anyway, which is primarily what Part I of the form deals with.

*IF* the rental activity rises to the level of a "Trade or Business", you need to manually add the rental profit to Line 11.
