I have a rental and I paid a plumbing company about $5k during 2016 to install new appliances. Do I need to file a 1099MISC since there were multiple workers?

Since it wasnt a self employed worker doing the work do I need to file a 1099misc? I know I will have to with my self employed lawyer, just wasnt sure about this situation.

If the workers were employed by a "company" and you pay the company you don't need to prepare 1099-MISC's.
