I have 1099-G income that agriculture rental payment. Turbo Tax is trying to make it unemployment or PFL. How do I change it?
My 1099-G is for agriculture CRP annual rental payments. When I try to add it, Turbo Tax wants to delete it because I don't put anything for unemployment or PFL. Where do I add it?

A 1099-G for CRP payment must be entered on a schedule F. You may be exempt from Self Employment tax with this 1099-G entered on schedule F. Be sure to review Ag Programs interview in the Farm Income section to determine the taxable portion and whether SE tax applies.

I have a 1099-G for agriculture payment from the US Dept of Agriculture. TurboTax updated my version to self-employed in order to accept this 1099G data. I am not self-employed. How do I revert back to the premier version as I had all my other W2 income, deductions, and credits already entered. I do not want to clear and start over. Thanks.

You will need to update to Self Employed version. A 1099-G for CRP payment must be entered on a schedule F. You may be exempt from Self Employment tax with this 1099-G entered on schedule F. Be sure to review Ag Programs interview in the Farm Income section to determine the taxable portion and whether SE tax applies.

- Click the Federal Taxes tab
- Choose Wages & Income
- Select I'll choose what I work on
- Scroll to Other Common Income and click Start next to Other 1099-G Income
- Yes I need to enter a 1099G for a government payment > Name and address is same (your name/address)
- Select Agricultural Program Payments > Continue to follow the prompts to enter your payment

I don't get why there are 3 places to enter 1099-G income, when a 1099-G can be issued for a multitude of reasons. It would make sense to have one place to enter a 1099-G, and you'd think the program could deal with it "correctly" based on user selections and the box the income is reported in. Apparently, the DEVs assume everybody that gets a 1099-G will be unemployed, first and foremost. Bad assumption.
