I got rental income from another state, do I have to file income tax for that state?
Turbotax Community,
What if I entered my home state tax information before my nonresident rental property state on Turbo Tax? I learned, after the fact, that I was to file my nonresident out of state taxe info. before my resident state income taxes. How do I correct this issue?
Thanks,

If you are using TurboTax online and completed your home state return before your out-of-state return you can either delete your home state return, complete your out-of-state return and then complete your home state return.
Or you can type in the information yourself on the screen for credit for taxes paid to other states.
TurboTax CD/Download will generally update the other state tax credit. If it does not, you can type it in yourself.
We’d have to know your home and the other state — and whether you are using TurboTax Online or CD/Download — to help you further.
