I don’t want to claim the money I contribute to the household as rent, I need to change it on my MA tax return 2024

If you have already filed your MA return, you'll need to amend your return to adjust the rent expense you entered.

Per How do I amend my state tax return?, here is how to do so in TurboTax Online:

1. "Go to the Amend screen.
2. Select Amend (change) return, then Amend using TurboTax Online.
   • If you're told to amend your return via TurboTax Desktop, follow the steps for TurboTax Desktop below instead.
3. On the screen OK, let's get a kickstart on your 2024 amended return, select The IRS or state sent me a notice (this will allow you to amend only your state return without making changes to your federal) and Continue.
4. On the next screen, select Something else and Continue.
5. On the screen Tell us which 2024 return(s) you want to amend, select 2024 state.
6. Continue until the Let's work on your state taxes screen. Select Amend next to your state return, and continue through the screens to make your amendments."
