Can you deduct Philips Lifeline GoSafe Monitoring system as a medical expense?Rental expense is $47.47 a month
I cannot find in IRS Publication 502 (Medical and Dental expenses) where it specifically lists that a monitoring system is deductible. However, as the attached link indicates, you can deduct amounts paid to a plan as follows:
Medical Information Plan You can include in medical expenses amounts paid to a plan that keeps medical information in a computer data bank and retrieves and furnishes the information upon request to an attending physician.
