I bought a laptop computer for my personal business, it says rental expense. Is that the correct section for this deduction?

If the laptop cost $2,500 or less, you should list it as either Supplies or add a miscellaneous expenses called Small Equipment and enter it there.

If you paid more than $2,500 for the laptop, it is considered an asset.  TurboTax will walk you through adding this to your assets and depreciating it appropriately.
