How do I report the state tax withheld for a 1099 misc for oil and gas royalties

To show the state tax withheld for a 1099-MISC, please follow these steps:

  1. Click on Federal Taxes > Wages & Income  [If you're in TT Self-EmployedPersonal > Personal Income ]
  2. In the Other Common Income section , click on the Start/Update box next to Form 1099-MISC [See Screenshot #1, below.]
  3. On the screen, Let's get the info from your 1099-MISC, below Box 3 mark the box:  My form has other info in boxes 1-18.  [Screenshot #2]
  4. Additional boxes will appear.  State info is included in Boxes 16-18.
