How do I file if I stopped working In August?

I stopped having the ability to work in August, and I no longer work. How do I file taxes if didn't work the whole year? Is there a different procedure?

Is there a different procedure?   No, there is not.

However, if you have no income there may be no need to file

see the IRS 1040 instructions for who must file on page 8

No, there is nothing to do differently if you only worked for part of the year.   There is no place on a tax return where you enter the dates you worked.  You are just entering the income you received in 2023---no matter when during 2023 you received it.    When you receive your W-2, you just prepare and file a normal tax return.   Even if you did not make enough to be required to file, if tax was withheld from your paychecks you can seek a refund of federal and state tax that is in boxes 2 and 17 of your W-2.
