How do I correct my annual rental home depreciation which messed up after trying to show a 2017 improvement?
I don't know what entries you made, but if you go back and delete the changes or re-enter the original data then we can move forward.
With the rental improvement you will set up a new asset and depreciate it over 40 years.
- Sign into TurboTax
- Click on Search at top right and Enter rentals and click search
- Click on Jump to rentals
- Click Yes to review your rental and royalty information
- Next screen answer appropriately and Continue
- On the Rental and Royalty Summary - Edit your rental
- Click on Assets / Depreciation - Update
- Click Yes, I want to go to my asset summary and Continue
- Click add an asset and go through interview
