Hello. I think there is a bug in the TURBO TAX PREMIERE DESKTOP software. Currently I was in the "ASSET / DEPRECIATION" when it started to allude that I can record the purchase of a refridgerator (for my rental) as an EXPENSE under the De Minimis Safe Harbor Election.
Anyways upon selecting "EVERY ITEM I BOUGHT COSTS $2500 or Less" at the last prompt, Turbotax opens the ASSET window. I was expecting to see a window for any DE MINIMIS EXPENSES.
How do I add an EXPENSE under the De Minimus Safe Harbor Election? Secondly, I didnt see a way to ADD it to the previous EXPENSES section neither.
I hope this made sense.
Please assist.

The process you described is the correct steps when you have selected to use the De Minimis Safe Harbor. After you indicate that you do want to use that election, a statement is added to your return to report that election. Then, the program continues to go through the Assets section in case you need to update any previous entries.
After you leave that section, go back to the Expenses section for your rental and enter the refrigerator cost as a Miscellaneous Expense. This is the one where you can type your own description and cost of the item.
