Hi, all. I have a question. Last year I made 300k in capital gains, This year I will have 100k loss. Is it possible to offset previous c gains with this year c losses?

No. Prior gains can’t be offset by losses in a subsequent year. But carryover losses can offset current year gains.

And if you have investment sale losses, after you subtract the losses from your gains you can only deduct up to 3,000 (1,500 MFS) per year. The rest you will have to carryover until it is used up.
