Got some stock through work long ago. Got bought out. Rec'd 1099-B. Some X, some D in Applicable check box on Form 8949. Can claim all X as 0 cost basis, pay tax on all?

Amount is minimal, would prefer to pay tax on all to going through all this hassle; also, do I have to mail something if I pay tax on all of it ?

You can always enter $0 as basis.  That doesn't affect your ability to e-file.
