You will not "keep TT up to date" ... you will have a gap in the history.  As such you will need to start over from scratch next year and enter any common information from the 2022 return as needed.   Make sure the CPA gives you copies of everything including all of the worksheets.

Sorry---you can't.   If you want to return to TurboTax for your 2023 return next year, you will not have a 2022 tax file to transfer in to 2023.   The pdf file the CPA  might give you may not transfer much besides a little of your personal information.

Before you go to a CPA, you will need to provide them a printout of "EVERYTHING" from your 2021 tax return. Not just the "forms for your records" or the "forms for filing". Print everything, to include all calculation forms and worksheets. Otherwise, if they don't know your "filing history" you can potentially leave them guessing and it "CAN" cause problems for "YOU" if/when you go back to TurboTax for your 2023 tax return.

When the CPA completes your 2022 taxes, make sure the CPA gives you a printout of everything. Not just the "forms for filing" and not just the "forms for your records". You need absolutely everything, including all calculation forms and worksheets.

Once you have that, you can use TurboTax 2022 "AS IF" you are going to file with TurboTax. You'll have all the data you need on the printouts, as you work through the program.

If the CPA e-files the tax return for you, then when done entering your data in TurboTax and the results match what the CPA does, select the "print and file" option, then print the tax return. This way, TurboTax will "think" you filed the return by mail, even though the CPA may have e-filed it.

If the CPA does not e-file or mail the return on your behalf, once you're happy with the results in the TTX program, you can e-file it.

If you don't use TTX at all for your 2022 taxes, then for 2023 taxes you'll be able to enter all data manually from scratch, using the printouts from the CPA.

If you plan to return to using TurboTax for the next tax year, you might want to consider using TurboTax LIVE Full Service this year. At least you will have a file to transfer to 2023.

See https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/online/live/full-service/#see-pricing

Note also that with an installment sale, the complexity of your future tax returns will be ongoing.

In the above thread, Carl gave the advice I would give.  I would use the information the CPA prepared to enter into TurboTax and ensure that the information matches, then print the return as if you are going to mail it into IRS but don't if CPA transmits.  This will setup the return for easy filing for 2023 in TurboTax.  @soapy-132
