Does it affect your taxes if you've rented an apartment but had your mailing address to a different location? If so, how do you add that rent expense on taxes ?

Signed a lease on an apartment for 12 moths last year and kept my old mailing address.  I wanted to know if it affects your refund.

The actual mailing address you use on the return  has nothing to do with the actual return or your refund.  Many folks use a different mailing address than their actual physical address.
