Do I report a unclaimed stock sale from the state of Kentucky on my taxes?

I received a check from the state for the unclaimed stock after being held by KY for years. After finally tracking it down, I authorized the sale. I did not receive any forms from KY or the previous stock broker.

Do I report a unclaimed stock sale from the state of Kentucky on my taxes?

No, you do not need to report.

The Commonwealth will not issue a 1099 and does not consider this taxable income.
