If you are filing a resident HI return then you will report your total worldwide income on that return ... however you should be filing a non resident return for the state where the rental property is so you can get a credit on the HI return for any taxes already paid on the other state return. For the program to calculate the credit for you correctly you MUST complete the non resident state first.
