Depreciation on second home converted to rental property

I bought a second home in 2020 and my daughter lives there. We rented a room to her friend in 2021 and I've included that income in TurboTax as a property newly converted to a rental. I also specify  the room is 23% of square footage , but nowhere is TurboTax calculating depreciation. I keep going through the EasyStep Assets/Depreciation section of Rental Properties in Wages & Income, but TurboTax lists depreciation as zero. Thanks for any help.

Check the list of steps here and make sure that you are entering everything correctly.

Most likely, you are incorrectly entering percentages.

Percentage of square footage you've already established as 23% of the entire property.

Percentage of business use should be 100% (One Hundred Percent)

Percentage of personal use should be ZERO percent.

The last two only apply to the 23% of the property that is rental.

Finally, the percentage of time should be asking percentage of floor space, so on that screen enter 23%.

Then, the depreciation will be correct.

Thanks. The steps provided above were helpful but I needed to know this as well.

Thanks! Since the EasyStep asks "Did you buy any items for any business, rental property, and/or farm that cost $2,500 or less in 2021?" I selected yes since I bought a new range for the property when I rented it. The next step is about deducting these items as expenses, and I answered yes to both questions. It then skips the step asking me to input the value of the house. After doing the loop three times, I changed the answer to no and was able to enter all the info and still given the option of deducting the range as an expense (so a little confusing and frustrating).
