Is the sales tax in stairlift rental deductible as part of the itemized medical expenses?
We had to rent a stair lift for my handicapped mom living with us. We're itemizing deductions because of the huge medical and support bills for her care. Just realized now that the stair lift rental (4 months in 2018) included sales tax. Should we deduct the whole amount we paid, including sales tax, or should we exclude the sales tax?
