My 1099 from a broker has too many transactions to complete with Desktop Deluxe. I can still efile with inputting the "section totals," but then need to separately mail the 1099 to the IRS along with Form 8453.
Printing and mailing a 400 page document is a big task. I then found out that TT Online allows me to upload the pdf from the broker and TT will include it with the efile transmittal.
Is my understanding correct? I also read that upgrading to Desktop Premier might allow the same procedure as TT Online. TT Online is surprisingly expensive...particularly when considering wasting the desktop version and all its hours of work. (TT Online will not allow the transfer of current year data, only prior).
If this is the only solution, I will use TT Online, because I really want to avoid the expense and time of printing and sending registered mail.

If you log into Online it will access the tax file you have been working on with Desktop.
Your work is not wasted.
Unless things have changed recently,
TurboTax Online allows you to attach a PDF for 1099-B when you e-File, but Desktop does not.
Contact TurboTax support for a credit for Online if you already bought Desktop from Intuit.
I keep seeing reference to prior year only....but I do have a dot Tax 2025 file.
I will try that!
