Can I pull my ira out and personally invest in stock market without penalties?

Would like to know if I can pull out money from my personal ira and invest in stocks myself.  Will I be taxed or penalized?

If you are below age 59-1/2, unless you meet one of the exceptions, you will have a 10% penalty for early withdrawal from your IRA.  Please see this list of exceptions on the IRS website:  Retirement Topics - Exceptions to Tax on Early Distributions

You will also owe taxes on the amount withdrawn, unless its a Roth.

transfer your IRA to a self-directed brokerage account.

there is no penalty.

there is no commission.

There is no reporting your activity.

if you don't already know this you should read up on it.

Of course you can invest in stocks within your IRA too.  Might be a better plan than pulling your funds out of your IRA.
