We got financed and installed Solar on our home in December 2017. We claimed the 30% energy tax credit on it when we filed in March 2018. We Bought another house in July 2018 and We started to rent our old house in November 2018 . Can I claim a utility expense on the now rental house since I'm paying a monthly payment for financing the solar? The solar system is Owned by me not leased. The Renter pays the Electrical company for excess energy pulled from the grid. Renter has the Electrical bill in there name and I have the solar payment in mine.

Unfortunately, you cannot deduct the monthly loan payments since you have already claimed the 30% tax credit for the same expense.
