Yes. CA taxes residents on their world wide income from all sources. Since FL does not tax personal income, there is no reciprical tax agreement in place. Take note that you will "NOT" file a FL state return at all, as no such forms exist for personal income. The Florida State DR-405 is for reporting and paying the tangible property tax. That only applies to rental property owners if you rent a furnished apartment, and you report those furnishings as physically separate assets on the SCH E. The DR-405 can not be e-filed either. It has to be printed, signed and mailed to the state (preferably with payment)
