After entering 1099-misc numbers I can't enter any more data anywhere

(This may be related to the 'stuck in loop' problem)

Previously I had the 'stuck in loop' problem. Today I deleted the 2021 forms I had used and started over. After importing data from last year's  return, I chose to 'work on items I select', and entered my 1099-misc data. Strangely, after I was done with that, TT did not ask any questions. The I went to another area (they all behaved the same, I chose SS data). I couldn't enter any data. I could highlight the $0 value, but couldn't enter a value. Them, upon exiting the program, I got error 70001, 'TT  is already running' - 'switch users and run from the other account'.

I had just turned on this computer and started TT. There are no other accounts on this system. My internet access is fine, and this is not an intermittent issue - it happens every time.

Are you using the Turbo Tax desktop program? If so please ensure that you have the latest update. The steps for updating the program (if you are unfamiliar) can be found here. Once you reply we will assist accordingly.

I updated TT, just like I did yesterday. There is still no change - I  can't enter any more data after inputting the 10999-misc data

My memory may be faulty, but I seem to recall this issue (or one similar maybe) about 3 or 4 years ago. The solution was to delete the 1099-MISC entirely, then save and exit the program completely. Then restart the program and basically enter the 1099-MISC anew.

One thing (again, memory may be rusty) that seemed to cause this issue was if you click the Back button in the process of entering the 1099-MISC. So make sure your entries on a screen are perfect, before you click the Next or Continue button.

That's a non-starter. I have multiple 1099-misc forms, who can guess where some possible error is? BTW, I've been using TT for 20 years - this is a new problem for me
