8949 instructions

I received a 1099-B for a wash sale adjustment, check was $16.36.  I am being asked for the cost basis  which I don't know since I inherited this stock 20 years ago when my dad passed away.The 1099B says I should complete 8949.  What should I do?

The easiest solution in this situation is to report a zero basis and pay tax on the $16.36.
