Anyone else have this problem?
Is there a work-around?
Does it matter?
Did you report in the program that you made "non-deductible" contributions in the past or that you made an excess contribution to an account?
These are the only reasons the Program should be asking for that information.
Can you supply any additional details on the issue?
Yes - and it showed the carry-forward balance of the non-deductible contributions from my 2024 tax return. It was preparing the 8606 using the 2024 Form 8606 contribution balance.
As a work-around, I manually entered the total market value of my IRAs on2025 Form 8606.
This is incorrect. The program requires this with a 1099R regardless of how I answer "Did you have any nondeductible IRA contributions to your traditional IRA from 2024 or prior years?"
This is rather frustrating.
