Does TurboTax (2024) and now 2025 generates a T936? When I download my archive from the web there is noT936 anymore.

If you use TurboTax Online, the "standard" PDF archive frequently only contains the forms required for filing. Because the T936 is a calculation form used to support the Capital Gains Deduction (T657), it is occasionally excluded from the "Simple" or "Condensed" PDF downloads.

Before completing your 2024 or 2025 tax return, look for the option to download the "Detailed PDF" or "PDF for your records." This version usually includes all worksheets and calculation forms, including the T936, which the "CRA submission" version may leave out.

If the form does not appear, even in the "Detailed" PDF, it is likely that the software did not "trigger" the form because no investment data was entered.

Navigate to the Income tab.

Go to Investments > Investment Income and Expenses.

Make sure you've selected the "Calculation of Cumulative Net Investment Loss (T936)" topic so that the interview questions are active.
